Next Sunday is Super Bowl 44, it is estimated that over 100 million people will be watching the game at some point during the game. Many of those millions of people are not even football fans. There are millions of people who will be watching Super Bowl 44 for the commercials. Companies pay millions of dollars for the various 15 or 30 slots or even more for a 1 minute slot. These advertisers make epic commercials that are meant as one off commercials only to be run during the Super Bowl . This was not true before 1984, when Apple Computers purchased a 60 second spot to introduce their new MacIntosh personal computers. They created a commercial like never before. The ad was a take on George Orwell’s 1984 and ended with the statement “ On January 24th, Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh. And you’ll see why 1984 won’t be like 1984.

Today, advertisers still pay millions for the spot time for Super Bowl, but they often spend more on the production of the ad then they do on the ad time itself.   This is what draws more viewers to watch, just to see the high quality of the creative and the high production value of the commercials.

Unfortunately, most people outside the USA do not see any of these commercials, but see local commercials that were not created for the Super Bowl. Now those Canadians who want to see those US commercials wait until the next day to watch them on the Internet.

Telsec Toronto office space clients, have access to a 100 meg pipe connection to to the internet. This allows clients with office space Toronto at Telsec the ability to quickly download and watch the USA Super Bowl commercials when they get into the office on Monday.

Some Toronto office space for lease clients at Telsec are even booking the training seminar room with the large projection screen, to watch the commercials on the big screen.

The best part of watching the Super Bowl commercials at your Toronto office space is that the coffee, tea and filtered water are always complimentary.

It is amazing how people come together in a time of disaster and tragedy. I went into the office the other day and there was a jar on the reception desk full of pennies and other change. The sign on the jar said “Pennies For the Children of Haiti”, it went on to say the goal was to raise 1 million pennies. This was the idea of a Telsec Toronto office space client. They have set up jars not only at Telsec, but at Toronto offices of their suppliers and clients. It is good to see people finding a way to get others to donate without having to think about it.

Telsec has made a sizable donation to the Salvation Army Haiti Relief Fund and encourages its office space Toronto and Virtual office Toronto clients to donate what they can.

The United Nations has designated The Salvation Army as the “lead agency” responsible for the care of 20,000 people made homeless by the earthquake in Haiti.

    You can Donate Online or
    send a cheque payable to “The Salvation Amy” and sent it to;

    Haiti Earthquake
    The Salvation Army
    National Processing Centre
    P.O. Box 8200
    Winnipeg, Manitoba
    R3C 4W5

Note on cheque indicating Haiti Earthquake Relief.

It seems that today is another one of those days that no one bothered to advertise or tell anyone about.  It is National Popcorn Day, yes, you read that correctly National Popcorn Day. Today is a day to celebrate popcorn and all the wonderful ways of enjoying that fluffy treat. The funny thing is that according to holidayinsights.com October is National Popcorn Month.  As I look out of my Toronto office space window, I am looking up Yonge Street to see the National Popcorn Day Parade, but I guess the parade may have been earlier today.  That is okay if I missed it, because I am looking forward to Carmel Popcorn Day on April 17th.  I may have to organize my own Carmel Popcorn Day parade or at least some sort of celebration.

For today, why not celebrate National  Popcorn Day by grabbing  a bag of popcorn and microwave it. At Telsec there are two fully equipped kitchens complete with microwave ovens to heat up your lunch or microwave some popcorn.

As a true coffee lover, I was not able to find an “International Coffee Day” or an “International Hazelnut Vanilla Coffee Day” , but I am sure the coffee companies will come out with that soon. I know that at Telsec, every day is “International Coffee Day” for me, as the coffee and tea are always complimentary and the selection of teas and coffees are abundant (including decaffeinated coffee, flavored coffees and even special blends of tea’s).

Just remember that at Telsec office space Toronto  the coffee, tea and filtered water are always complimentary.

Tiger Woods has not been seen since the US Thanksgiving weekend when he drove his Cadillac Escalade into a tree just outside his Florida home.  He  has been said to be hiding in places everywhere from Arizona to South Africa. Now the latest Internet rumours has all of Mississippi buzzing. It seems that several Web sites have claimed that the golf star is undergoing rehabilitation for sexual addiction at a respected clinic in the southern Mississippi town of Hattiesburg.

Of coarse officials at the Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction  Services  facility will not confirm or deny that Tiger is a client. To do so would be not only a breach of his privacy but unethical.  The worst thing a business could do would be to breach the privacy of its clients.

Another rumor that I heard was that Tiger is holed up somewhere in Toronto and has a phone answering service at Telsec Business Office Centres. When I contacted the staff at Telsec, they would not confirm or deny that he had been using their services. They would only say that their clients information was confidential.

At Telsec the only information that callers are given about a client is the information that the client has provided as public information in their profile. The Telsec staff will not answer any information about a client whose phones they are answering, unless the client specifically states what information can be given.  This works especially well for virtual office clients who do not have a physical office, but want their customers to believe they have an office. Many telephone answering clients will have Telsec answer their calls and transfer them to an external number like a home office or cell phone or have their calls directed to voice mail after the live receptionist answers the call.

I know if I was Tiger, I would have a virtual office Toronto at Telsec to have a prestigious business address without anyone knowing if I was there or not.

Besides all that, at Telsec the coffee, tea and filtered water are always complimentary.

As I watch the goings on with Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and the rest of this late night fiasco, I am reminded of a show back in the 90′s called “Battle of the Network Stars”. The big difference today is that the “Network Stars” who are battling it out, are all on one network NBC.

NBC having realized the mistake they may have made by putting Jay Leno into prime time has decided to try to shuffle time slots and push the prime time Jay Leno show back one hour and then push subsequent shows like “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” back an hour as well… then all of the other late night talk shows on NBC back as well.  This will make the Jimmy Fallen’s show starting around 3 am.  This move has just put the line up back to the way that it was before Conan O’Brien took over “The Tonight Show”.

The more I read about the spin that NBC is trying to put on it and that the stars themselves are now making jokes and comedy bits about this decision, I can only think that NBC has hired some writers from the world of professional wrestling. Poor Vince McMahon over at the WWE (World Wresting Entertainment) can only be wishing that he could have come up with a story line like this to get the free publicity like NBC is getting from this battle.

As I am thinking of this story, I can only think of what would happen at Telsec if a client with many years at the location gave up a board room booking.  The staff at Telsec would not try to push a newer client out of a board room or meeting room booking, just because the older client decided they wanted the time they originally booked (and then canceled) back. At Telsec the booking of boardrooms and meeting rooms is on a first come first served basis and there is no favoritism given to certain clients based on how long they have rented Toronto office space.

At the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas, Google has unveiled the Nexus One Phone.  The Google Nexus One phone is being talked about as the biggest competitor in the smartphone market to the Apple iPhone, but some industry say that the Apple iPhone has become the industry standard that other smartphones have to keep up with. Palm has released a new smartphone at CES and now even computer manufacturer Dell has entered the smartphone market.

Other news makers from the CES 2010 are Sony unveiling a new VAIO Laptop and Panasonic now has a new flat screen monitor that supports the popular Internet telephone service Skype.

One of the biggest attempts to steal thunder from Apple and their forthcoming iSlate, was software giant Microsoft announcing their entry in the tablet computer market. The introduction of a tablet-style unnamed Microsoft computer that will challenges its rivals on a number of fronts was the real show stealer and has gotten the industry buzzing.

Just like Apple has set the standard for smartphones and hand held computers with the iPhone and its predecessor Newton, Telsec has set the standard for business office centers. Telsec’s Toronto office space has been open since 1980.  Apple evolved the Newton from a hand held computer to the iPhone as the industry standard and the one everyone tries to compete with. Telsec was one of the first Toronto serviced offices, and led the way for other office space Toronto locations to open their doors. Telsec has continued to stay ahead of other office spaces in Toronto by continually investing in modern technology and excellent customer service. When other players enter the office space for rent business in Toronto, they know they have to live up to the standard of Telcec Business Centres.

While, at Telsec the coffee and tea are always complimentary, so is the cold filtered water.  As part of their commitment to the environment, Telsec does not provide bottled water, but instead has a state of the art water filtration system and encourages its clients to use refillable bottles and containers for drinking water to keep thousands of plastic bottles out of the waste system.

The Peoples Choice Awards are on TV this past evening and although I did not watch them I did visit the web site to see the results. I mainly wanted to see if some of my choices were winners.

As I was searching the results, I got to thinking maybe someone should poll people about office space Toronto choices. For me it would have to be Telsec. Before deciding to take my office at Telsec, I visited a number of Toronto office space locations. Some of the office spaces were right in the middle of the financial district and parking was at a premium, in fact at one place the parking was almost as expensive as the office rental. For the most part many did not have any parking available nearby.

A few of the other office space locations that I looked at would not tell me about the additional charges that I would have to pay and made it seem that everything was included, that was not the case. It took a lot of questions to find out exactly what an office space was going to cost me.  What was most alarming is that while I was visiting the other business centres, the people I talked to had no idea what kind of internet service they had or what the speed of the service they offered to tenants.

Why did I make Telsec my “peoples choice” of office space Toronto?

    • Great Downtown office space location
    • Super high speed Internet, including available private T1 lines
    • Friendly and knowledgeable staff
    • I have free access to meeting rooms and boardrooms
    • Plenty of inexpensive parking within metres of the building
    • Inexpensive photo copies and the ability to print directly from my office without having to invest in high cost equipment
    • My calls are handled by a professional receptionist who gives my company the appearance of a large corporation with its own staff
    • I am not tied to a lease or long term agreement
    • I can go to the fourth floor cafeteria and enjoy my lunch overlooking Lake Ontario, rather than in the basement food court
    • Best of all the coffee, tea and filtered cold water is always complimentary

What else could you ask for in a downtown Toronto office space for rent?

Toronto executive office spaceNew Year’s Eve I was out at an event and got to meet some really great people.  One of the people I met told me that they have been looking for a well priced Toronto executive office that had windows with a view.

As the regional sales manager for a US based company, he wanted a prestigious address and a well appointed office space. but he did not want an office space in Toronto that he had to spend tons of money on in terms of equipment or office furnishings.  He had looked at other Toronto office spaces, most were stand alone offices that did not have any amenities. Others that offered amenities were well beyond his budget and he still did not have a decent view.

I quietly chuckled and told him I know just the place, the place I have my office at Telsec. The only well priced office solutions in Toronto that had lake views and city views to choose from. While Telsec offers Toronto office space that is ideal for most small and medium businesses, they also have some amazing executive office space Toronto.

I knew these executive office spaces were very popular, especially the ones with a lake view. I told him to call Josie at (416) 363-9035 to see what space she had available.

The last thing I had to say to him was … At Telsec the coffee and tea are always complimentary.

At that his eyes perked up and he was really impressed by the Toronto executive office space that I had told him about.
