• It is late Sunday night and I am out at a dinner with friends celebrating a special occasion when I got a call from a client. It seems that had accidently deleted a file containing some photos I took for them, and they needed to send the photo to their printer by 2:30 AM in the morning. The problem was that I had not taken my car to this celebration and it would take me too long to get home by public transit or even taxi, in order for me to get the photo to client so they could meet their deadline.

I remembered that I had copies of the photos on my computer at my downtown Toronto office space. My office space Toronto was only a few minute taxi ride from the entertainment district, so off I went. Even on a Sunday night it is not easy to get a cab in the club district, most of the Taxis were already in use. I finally caught one and was on my way to my executive suites Toronto.

When I got to the Toronto Star Building, I paid the taxi and proceeded to go into the building with my security pass in hand. As I was riding up the elevator, I realized that I did not have my Blackberry. I could not worry about that for the time being, I had to get the photos to the client. After finding the file of photos, I remembered that the number of the file they need was on my Blackberry, so I would have to send them the entire batch again. This was one of the times I was so happy that my office for rent Toronto had an amazing high speed internet connection. I was able to upload the 100 MB file in only a few minutes to my client’s FTP server. I called the client and they were able to extract the photo they needed and were able to meet their deadline.

With another happy client satisfied, it was time for me to head home. That is when I realized that it was not only my Blackberry that I had left in the taxi, but also my wallet. It seemed that in my haste to pay the taxi driver and to get my security pass out and handy, I had also left my wallet on the seat of the taxi. I had no idea of the taxi cab company or the number of the taxi license. How was I going to get home? Lucky for me I had a bunch of change in my pocket and there was a 24 hour bus a block away.

This morning when I arrived at my Toronto office space, there was a message for me to come down to the main security desk on the first floor. When I got to the security desk, there was a large envelope waiting for me. Inside the envelope was my Blackberry and Wallet. It seems that taxi driver discovered it and brought it back to the security guard on duty 10 minutes after I had left the building. I think with this kind of luck, I should buy a lottery ticket today.

  • Back in late January I purchased a new camera body, but have not had many chances to use it. I purchased a Nikon D90 to upgrade from my four year old D80 body. I am not retiring or selling my D80, but I am keeping it as a second body that I will keep one of my other lenses on. This will mean that I do not have to change lenses during a shoot. The new D90 camera is a big improvement over the D80, it has a larger and better sensor that allows me to shoot indoors without a flash.

Since purchasing the new camera I have only had a few chances to use it. Not having a full time studio anymore restricts my model shoots to rented or borrowed studios and outdoor shoots. The other problem with not having a full time studio has been coordinating times and dates with models and the studios that I do have access to. I have however had a few event gigs, including the Toronto International Bicycle Show, where I got to shoot a fashion show of the latest bicycle clothing.

When I walked into my downtown Toronto office space today, I got some good news. I was in the kitchen down the hall from my executive suites Toronto getting my morning coffee, when the office manager came to talk to me. She told me that the remodelling of the reception area was nearly complete and wondered if I would be interested in doing a profession photo shoot in the next week or so. I gladly agreed, as I had done the previous reception photos three years ago. I took it as a compliment that the owners and manager of the place where I have my office space for lease Toronto want me to take more photos for them.

After leaving the kitchen, I bumped into another office space tenant who overheard that I would be taking more photographs of the reception area, they wondered if I would be interested in taking some product photos for them. We agreed to talk on Monday to see what types of photos they want.

You would think because I am shooting less that I would have time to update my own website, but in the absence of the photography work, I have been doing a lot more web and IT work for clients. This week I had to book Toronto meeting rooms at my office for rent Toronto to meet with three potential clients. The web and IT work is my primary source of income, but photography is my true passion that keeps me going.

  • With the weather we have been experiencing over the past few days, I am beginning to believe that we cannot put our trust in groundhogs. This year neither Wiarton Willie nor his American cousin Punxsutawney Phil saw their shadows this year, meaning that spring weather was to come sooner.

According to legend of Groundhog Day, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on February 2nd and does not see it’s Shadow, than we are in for an early spring. If the groundhog sees its shadow it will retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will continue for six more weeks.

For the past few years I have used the Toronto International Bicycle Show as my barometer to the fact that spring is right around the corner. It is not the size of the crowds that I use to measure how close spring is (the Bicycle Show always gets great crowds), but instead I count the number of people who arrive on their bikes and park them out front of the Better Living Centre at Exhibition Place. If the bike racks are full, spring is only days away. If they are not too full, then spring is a few more weeks away.

The Toronto International Bicycle Show’s Toronto executive offices are located just down the hall from my Toronto office space. I have often seen the show manager Carl booking a boardroom in the weeks that lead up to the bike show. On Friday, I saw Carl in the kitchen of my office space Toronto getting a coffee and we had a short chat. As we were talking, he offered me a few complimentary passes to attend the show. I was thankful and told him that I would take some photos for him and would be happy to send him copies.

The greatest part of having my downtown Toronto office space at Telsec has been the networking opportunities that have come my way when meeting other office space clients.

  • Canada has won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at these Vancouver Olympic Games, but the sweetest medal came in the form of a Bronze. Clara Hughes took Bronze in the women’s 5000 metre long track speed skating today, what makes it sweet is this medal is the sixth of her career, putting her in a tie with Klassen as Canada’s most decorated Olympian. The other title that Hughes holds is that she is the only  athlete in history to win multiple medals in Winter and Summer Olympics games. This was her last ice race and she was happy to earned a spot on the podium.

Canada has won Gold and Silver in Women’s bobsledding. Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse dominated the Whistler sliding track and took the gold and Helen Upperton and Shelley-Ann Brown picked up the silver medal in the Canada 2 sled. This is also the first time in Olympic history that Canada has won a medal in Women’s bobsledding, so to capture both Gold and Silver is also the first time at the Vancouver games that Canada has won two medals in the same event. This Gold medal now has Canada tied with the USA and Germany with 7 Gold Medals at these games.

Jessica Gregg, Kalyna Roberge, Marianne St-Gelais and Tania Vicent took the silver medal in the women’s 3,000 metre relay. The Canadian women’s short-track relay team made it six medals in six Olympic appearances since short-track was introduced.

The other big news of the day was that the Canadian men’s ice hockey team beat the Russian team 7 to 3. This was just the second Olympic hockey meeting between the two long-time international rivals. In their last Olympic meeting Russia defeated the Canadians 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the 2006 Turin Winter Games and eliminated Canada from the tournament, so it was fitting that in this Olympic meeting, Canada eliminated the Russians.

CTV Olympics anchor Brian Williams referred to today as Women’s Wednesday, as all of the medals that Canada won today were by women athletes. There are large number of women entrepreneurs in Toronto and many chose to have Toronto executive offices at Telsec. Many  of these women started their business at home and eventually moved into office space Toronto to continue the growth of their business. Not having to worry about managing an office and not having to purchase office equipment has allowed them to concentrate on building their business.  Many of the Toronto women  entrepreneurs who have either Toronto office space or Toronto executive office space at Telsec, have had their Telsec office space for more than 5 years, some as long as 20 years.

  • Toronto executive office spaceNew Year’s Eve I was out at an event and got to meet some really great people.  One of the people I met told me that they have been looking for a well priced Toronto executive office that had windows with a view.

As the regional sales manager for a US based company, he wanted a prestigious address and a well appointed office space. but he did not want an office space in Toronto that he had to spend tons of money on in terms of equipment or office furnishings.  He had looked at other Toronto office spaces, most were stand alone offices that did not have any amenities. Others that offered amenities were well beyond his budget and he still did not have a decent view.

I quietly chuckled and told him I know just the place, the place I have my office at Telsec. The only well priced office solutions in Toronto that had lake views and city views to choose from. While Telsec offers Toronto office space that is ideal for most small and medium businesses, they also have some amazing executive office space Toronto.

I knew these executive office spaces were very popular, especially the ones with a lake view. I told him to call Josie at (416) 363-9035 to see what space she had available.

The last thing I had to say to him was … At Telsec the coffee and tea are always complimentary.

At that his eyes perked up and he was really impressed by the Toronto executive office space that I had told him about.

  • All the buzz the past few days around the water cooler was the fact that NASA had found water on the moon. This scientific breakthrough does not mean that you will be seeing bottles of Moon Water showing up at a variety store near you any time soon. This news does tell us that at some point the moon could have sustained life or may eventually be colonized. When will the first Telsec office space on the moon be available, I can not say.

While Telsec can not yet offer office space on the moon yet, they can offer a great office in downtown Toronto. No, they do not have moon water yet, but they do have cold filtered water available in both kitchens. It may be a number of years until Telsec can offer moon offices with a view of the earth, I can tell you that some clear sky evenings when I am working late at my Telsec Toronto office space, I can look out my window and get a great view of the moon.

Downtown Toronto office space at Telsec offers city views and lake views. When the sun is barely down and you can see the moon rising over Lake Ontario, the view is spectacular. • Executive Office Space

    Executive Office Space

With many companies moving their head offices outside of the city core, they sometimes want to keep an executive presence downtown. In some cases two or three executives may even time share at the same downtown executive office.

A satellite executive office can also be used as regional executive offices. While companies want to offer regional executives quality office space, they often do not wish to spend unnecessary amounts on office management and support staff. This is why businesses look at office business centres, as business office centers provide the infrastructure and support staff on a a-la-cart basis. This saves companies money and allows them to have a regional presence at a budget they can control.

At Telsec, our exectutive offices for rent, are fully furnished offices with executive quality furniture. Coffee, tea and office cleaning is complimentary and included in the Toronto office rental price.
