Christmas Eve Day at Our Office Space Toronto

December 24th, 2012|Comments Off on Christmas Eve Day at Our Office Space Toronto

Twas the day before Christmas and there were many people wandering the halls of our office space Toronto. Smiles were everywhere and some people even had eggnog instead of their complimentary coffee! Even many of those who do not celebrate the Christian holiday were wrapped up in the spirit of goodwill associated with the commercial trappings of the holiday. It was pleasant to hear “Merry Christmas” rather than “Happy Holidays” from people you did not know. One conversation that was overheard in the kitchen of our office space Toronto was about the most requested thing that mall Santas were being asked for. Along with the usual top trending toys, this year Santa is getting a lot of requests for an Ikea monkey or a pet wild turkey like the one that has been seen along Kingston Road in Toronto’s East end. One thing is for sure – our downtown Toronto […]

How Are You Going To Deal With The One-Day Teachers Strike?

December 17th, 2012|Comments Off on How Are You Going To Deal With The One-Day Teachers Strike?

One-day work stoppages by teachers have been happening around the province. But Tuesday they will hit home for those with office space Toronto who have children in elementary school. Last week when one York Region area was affected by the one-day strike, a few Toronto office space tenants who had children in those schools decided to work from home rather than at their downtown office space. Today, an office for rent Toronto client couple who lives in Hamilton decided to bring their son into the office and put him to work doing some filing. So, much of the water-cooler conversations around the kitchens of our office space Toronto and in the line-up at Tim Hortons on the fourth-floor of the Toronto Star Building, involved what people in Toronto would do tomorrow when more schools were closed for the day. Those who had Toronto office space at Telsec who are able […]

Putting on the Gloves in Toronto Office Space

December 14th, 2012|Comments Off on Putting on the Gloves in Toronto Office Space

The old expression “Taking the Gloves Off” has often been used in business when it is time to knuckle down and “get down to business.” In these tough economic times many small businesses are having to take the gloves off and fight to survive. Other entrepreneurs and small business owners are putting the gloves on at their Toronto offices to better interact with technology. Today at our office space Toronto, this blogger noticed a woman who had an office for rent Toronto at Telsec wearing gloves in the 18th-floor kitchen. I was perplexed at what I was seeing because it was not that cold anywhere on the floor. A closer look showed that the gloves had silver-looking tips on the first two digits and on the thumb. It turns out that the woman was not wearing the gloves for warmth, but because the conductive silver thread on the tips of the glove […]

Popup Offices are not an alternative to Office Space Toronto

December 12th, 2012|Comments Off on Popup Offices are not an alternative to Office Space Toronto

You have probably heard about the trend called Popup Shop or Popup Retail, where empty retail space is temporarily used for a short time. Literally, they can pop up one day and be gone the next, hence the coined word “popup.”  For owners of empty retail spaces, popups can help bridge the gap between long-term tenants. For a business, this setup may provide an ideal way to have a quick sell-off sale or test the retail market briefly in that location. Now there is a new term that started in the UK called Popup Offices or Popup Office Space. The idea behind the popup office is that companies can temporarily house staff in a non-traditional office location for a short time with little or no infrastructure except for a Wifi Internet connection. The problem is that these short-term office arrangements are not seen by potential clients or existing customers as a professional […]

Social Media is Not for Every Small Business

December 7th, 2012|Comments Off on Social Media is Not for Every Small Business

While Telsec’s office space Toronto has benefited greatly from using social media like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus, other small businesses have not had any success using social media to attract new business or to reinforce business relationships with existing clients. Having an Internet presence is good, but social media requires a commitment. Before considering setting up a social media profile, you should first make a plan on how and when you will update and interact with that profile. The experts say that unless you can commit to regular updates and interactions with your social network followers, you are better to not have a social media profile. The reason for this is that without constant monitoring and interaction with your followers, problems may occur and by the time you find them, the damage to your reputation will be done. Some office for rent Toronto clients have told us that they […]

Seasonal Party for Office Staff at Office Space Toronto

December 6th, 2012|Comments Off on Seasonal Party for Office Staff at Office Space Toronto

This blog was inspired by some interesting conversations that happened at the Telsec office space Toronto Christmas party for office for rent Toronto tenants. This year, like previous years, the food and drinks were set up in the boardroom that is just off of the reception area, but most people were standing around the reception area talking and being offered finger foods as the waiter walked through the crowd. Because this was a Christmas party for all office space for lease Toronto tenants, one of the topics of conversation between tenants was how big and diverse the crowd was and maybe Telsec should move next year’s party to one of the larger Toronto meeting rooms or even the seminar training room. Another topic of conversation that was also party-related was where and what type of seasonal party were the office space tenants having for their own staff or clients? A […]

Using a Hashtag Can Be Good For Business

December 4th, 2012|Comments Off on Using a Hashtag Can Be Good For Business

Social media can be good for business. You just need to know how to use it to your advantage. Social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are becoming very popular with larger businesses to help with brand awareness and to keep their brands top of mind. But these sites can also benefit small businesses who have office for rent Toronto at office business centres like Telsec. When it comes to Facebook, the key is to establish and grow your page with followers or “likes.” You should start by letting friends, family and those who you already do business with, get to know you better and like you. The second step is to do some outreach and find groups where the members have similar interests or are potential consumers for your product or service. Thirdly, consider running an inexpensive Facebook ad that allows you to target not only a demographic, […]

Yes, it is cold and flu season again. While many people are being reminded to get the flu shot, there are also other ways to help protect yourself against influenza, especially by reducing your exposure to germs and viruses around your Toronto office space. Would you believe that it is more likely that your office desktop harbours more germs and bacteria than the office bathroom? The bathroom is routinely cleaned with disinfectant while your office desk and other surfaces in your office space Toronto may not be. How often have you cleaned your keyboard? It is said that your keyboard is potentially dirtier than the average office toilet seat. Think of the potential E. coli and staph germs on your keyboard, your fingers and even on your phone! Planning Your Toronto Office Space is Just as Important as Your Business Plan

November 9th, 2012|Comments Off on Planning Your Toronto Office Space is Just as Important as Your Business Plan

There is an old saying “plan to succeed; not planning is planning to fail.” In the past, when starting a new business, you had to have a business plan as a written guide outlining what your goals are. But today, you should also have a plan drafted that will help you find your office space environment. Planning your Toronto office space is just as important as your business plan. The first step in planning your office space Toronto is to go back to your business plan and determine how much you have budgeted for your Toronto office space rental. Once you have a shortlist of Toronto office spaces that fit your budget and needs, plan to visit them and find out the amenities and […]

Business Centers Should Listen to their Tenants – Office Space Toronto does

October 31st, 2012|Comments Off on Business Centers Should Listen to their Tenants – Office Space Toronto does

Office business centers are becoming more and more popular because tenants want to be treated as clients and customers by those who have office for rent Toronto. More business centers should listen to their tenants. Office space Toronto does this and has much happier tenants for that reason. In traditional office spaces, companies pay their rent and almost never see the landlord or his/her representative. Yes, when things are broken they may see a repair person or building maintenance staffer, but rarely anyone that will take the initiative and make constructive suggestions of what can be done to fix the situation immediately. Questions, concerns, comments and suggestions often take a long time to be addressed or to be brought to the attention of the person or persons who can actually make a decision. With office business centres like Telsec, the office space Toronto staff tenants talk to the ones who can make […]

Still no Frankenstorm but Superstorm Sandy is Sure Packing a Punch

October 30th, 2012|Comments Off on Still no Frankenstorm but Superstorm Sandy is Sure Packing a Punch

There has been a big media buzz for the past 4 days about a Frankenstorm that would occur when Hurricane Sandy came inland and ran into arctic winds from Canada’s Northwest. So far Sandy is no longer a hurricane and is now just a post-tropical cyclone that has been re-labelled a Superstorm because of the sheer size of the storm formation. Many people at Telsec’s office space Toronto were skeptical about the Frankenstorm, but this superstorm sure packed some winds overnight. While some of the neighbourhoods surrounding the downtown (the horseshoe as Toronto Hydro calls them) are experiencing blackouts due to downed trees and other flying debris, the downtown area where hydro lines are primarily underground is not expected to experience any power outages. This is good news for many Toronto office space clients who, like myself, want to work through this storm with little or no interruptions. I often […]

Getting Unstuck From Your Toronto Office Space

October 19th, 2012|Comments Off on Getting Unstuck From Your Toronto Office Space

It seems that a number of people these days feel stuck in their office space Toronto. I am not talking about being stuck in a long-term lease, but stuck waiting in their office for that call, e-mail or contract to come in. Fact is that most people do not like to be stuck behind the same desk for 40 hours a week every week. This is especially true of those who work for themselves in a one-person office. This does not need to be the case. Better workspaces and technology can help you get “unstuck” from your Toronto office space. Having an office space Toronto that has opportunities and spaces to socialize and interact with other people can be a great way to get unstuck from your desk. Some office space Toronto business centres have groups of tenants who organize mid-day networking events or pot-luck lunches as a way to […]

Business Centre Office Networking Can Also benefit Virtual Office Toronto Clients

September 10th, 2012|Comments Off on Business Centre Office Networking Can Also benefit Virtual Office Toronto Clients

Sharing common areas of an office business centre like Telsec can be very beneficial to office space for rent Toronto clents, especially when it comes to business networking opportunities. Like most offices, many people who work in business centres start their day when they get their coffee, tea or whatever morning beverage they like to have. While they are getting their coffee in the kitchen, they will run into familiar faces and engage in small talk. Throughout the day they will often return to the kitchen to grab another coffee or to heat up their lunch. Often they will run into the same people (who are on the same coffee-craving schedule) or other office space tenants who are getting their first cup of the day. Another common area of a business centre that people find themselves running into other office space for lease Toronto tenants is in the room where […]

Why office rental Toronto clients are looking at Credit Unions rather than banks

August 24th, 2012|Comments Off on Why office rental Toronto clients are looking at Credit Unions rather than banks

Small and medium-sized businesses that are office rental Toronto clients are learning the advantages of credit unions. They are seeing banks making record profits and they, the customer, are paying higher banking fees to keep the profits up. Small businesses can not afford to line the pockets of millionaire bank executives and bank shareholders are now looking at not for profit or non-profit banking alternatives that will help them keep their business in the game. Credit unions are similar to traditional banks in the sense that they both offer financial products to customers, but credit unions are member-focused rather than profit-focused. A credit union is a cooperative, which means it is owned and controlled by its members, as opposed to being owned by its stockholders like a bank. Once an office space Toronto business is granted membership to the credit union and you have made your initial deposit, you are then a […]

One of the topics of conversation that keeps coming up in the kitchens of our Toronto office space for rent is online marketing, especially the topic of content. It seems that marketing trends are always changing and in this day of the Internet, it can sometimes change faster than we are prepared for. A lot of companies were focusing their marketing strategies on search engine marketing, public relations, television and radio advertising as their preferred marketing tools, but now the trend is leading towards content marketing. So what exactly is this stuff they call content marketing and how are Toronto office space for rent clients are using content marketing? As the way that Telsec office for rent Toronto clients explain it, that it is as simple as creating original and helpful content — content that drives people not only to your website, but engages them to react and follow up […]

Telsec’s Office Space Toronto may be featured in a new Movie

August 10th, 2012|Comments Off on Telsec’s Office Space Toronto may be featured in a new Movie

A film producer was looking for a location to shoot a few segments of his film that would include shots in offices with lake views and offices with city views.  The location scouting team contacted Lindsay (who is one of the office space client specialists), to set up a tour. They took the tour and made some notes, and said they might be in touch. This past week the locations person brought the producer, director and other key people involved for another tour of Telcec’s office space for rent Toronto. They were looking for offices with various views of the city for certain scenes in the film and the location scouting person felt this was the ideal location for them. During the second tour, some of the production staff liked the setup of some of the large Toronto meeting rooms and especially liked the team space office for a few […]

Greater Toronto Area is Fast Becoming Canada’s Most Expensive Place to Operate Corporate Headquarters

August 8th, 2012|Comments Off on Greater Toronto Area is Fast Becoming Canada’s Most Expensive Place to Operate Corporate Headquarters

According to a U.S. consulting firm that did a study to find what cities have the highest office space rates, they that the Toronto and GTA (Greater Toronto Area) is fast becoming Canada’s most expensive place to operate corporate headquarters. Like most major Canadian cities, Toronto faces a shortage in Class A commercial office space. The vacancy rate in downtown Toronto is only 4.5% compared to 8% national average. This should change as there is a good deal of new office towers under construction. Many years ago, large North American companies had their Canadian corporate headquarters in Montreal office space, but moved them to Toronto. Now, Toronto office space for lease is getting out of reach in terms of cost and availability for new firms looking for corporate headquarters. Large companies are not looking to move their headquarters away from Toronto, but some other cities and communities are still looking for […]

Letter From Camp sent to Office Space Toronto

August 7th, 2012|Comments Off on Letter From Camp sent to Office Space Toronto

Today on the heels of a long weekend, one of our office for rent Toronto clients received a special letter from his son who was at summer camp in Northern Ontario. What made this letter special was two-fold. First the letter was sent to the father at his business address rather than their home, the second was that the address was not exactly written properly and the post office was still able to deliver it. The address of his father’s business is Mike Jones & Associates (name changed to protect privacy), 1 Yonge Street, suite 1801, Toronto, Ontario, M5E 1W7. The son’s letter was addressed as “Daddy 18 floor 1 Young Street, Toronto Canada”. Yep, even without the postal code or proper spelling of Yonge Street, the post office was able to deliver the letter. There are not too many addresses in Canada that the post office can deliver a letter […]
